A hospital pharmacy in South Georgia needed to transform a very tight footprint into a functional, durable workspace that could support daily pharmaceutical operations. The available area was extremely limited in depth, making standard casework impossible to use. BICASA North America was selected to design and build a custom solution that would maximize the space without compromising workflow or cleanability.
A Tailored Solution for a Challenging Footprint
Using our Modulare fixed casework system, we engineered a suite of custom upper and base cabinets built to non‑standard, ultra‑narrow depths – while maintaining structural integrity, storage capacity, and ergonomic access. Widths remained standard, but the depth constraints required precise engineering and fabrication.
The installation included:
- Custom narrow‑depth Modulare base and upper cabinets
- Abet Laminati worktops for durability and cleanability
- Durcon sink for chemical‑resistant performance
- WaterSaver fixtures for long‑term reliability
The result was a compact, efficient pharmacy workspace that made full use of the limited footprint.
Adaptability That Made the Project Possible
This project demonstrated the strength of the Modulare system:
- Cabinets could be engineered to significantly reduced depths
- The system maintained full rigidity and performance
- The final layout delivered much‑needed lab space without requiring architectural modifications
The adaptability of the system allowed the pharmacy to achieve a functional workspace where standard casework simply wouldn’t fit.
Installation Support When the Site Wasn’t Ready
Although the site was not fully prepared on the scheduled installation date, our installation team worked closely with the general contractor to keep the project on track. Through flexibility and coordination, we were still able to:
- Install on time
- Meet all quality expectations
- Deliver a finished space that satisfied the pharmacy, the GC, and the architect
This responsiveness was key to the project’s success.
A Clean, Efficient, and Purpose‑Built Result
The completed installation provided the hospital with a compact yet highly functional pharmacy workspace — maximizing storage, improving workflow, and delivering long‑term durability through high‑quality materials and thoughtful design.
